Our story

In March 2005, Warelog’s partners embraced the challenge of creating and developing a new customs warehouse in the Porto area as the basis for its future development.

The idea was quite simple: to create a company that was permanently dedicated and adapted to market circumstances. As a new entrant to the logistics market in Portugal, the aim was to identify market niches in which Warelog could become an effective partner for its customers and, in this way, be a catalyst for creating value in their activities, by presenting solutions tailored to their specific needs.

This basic idea and our demonstrated ability to work hand in hand with each of our partners has allowed us to evolve with an open mind, making timely and systematic changes to the way we do things, seeking at all times to increase the efficiency of our services and the satisfaction of our valued clients.

Over time, always responding to requests from its customers and the market, the company has created new services and evolved into what it is today.

Chronology

All told, it made sense! Luís Pinto and António Rui Silva set to work and started the project. To create a Customs Warehouse in Porto, completely focused on customers and their needs, which would become an immediate benchmark in the segment. Meanwhile, with the arrival of Luís Silva, the necessary conditions were created and Warelog was born on February 14, 2005 in Vilar do Senhor.
2005
Responding to customer requests and starting to create the "one stop shop" concept, we began our national distribution service.
2006
Moving to the company's current headquarters in Vila do Conde.
2009
Taking advantage of the functionalities of the new facilities and the response capacity of the Distribution sector, we started the Stock Management (Logistics) service, specializing in IMO/ADR cargo, at the Vila do Conde facilities.
2009
Acquisition of Artlog, Lda and start-up of the Export Warehouse.
2010
Acquisition of Manuel M. Rodrigues de Sousa, Lda and expansion of the business to Lisbon.
2011
Merger of the group's companies giving rise to the current corporate structure.
2011
Creation of the Roadfreight department, for the creation of the Benelux line.
2015
Creation of the Overseas department, responding to the challenge launched by some international contacts.
2016
Opening of the Italian land line.
2020
Opening of UK and Swiss land lines.
2022
Opening of the Spanish land line.
2024
Opening of land lines from Egypt, Syria and Türkiye, as well as the Maghreb and Balkan regions.
2025
The acquisition of "Contemar - Companhia Marítima de Contentores, Lda", a benchmark in the industry and the market, brings its expertise and differentiated services to the Warelog universe. Together, cover all areas of logistics, including (Sub) Shipping Company Agency, and offer a broad portfolio to clients.

Starting in March, Warelog will have an additional 4500m2 in Arrifana.
